Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Her debut EP Pho, released on October 21 2016, was released by Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012 with her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The singer continued uploading her tracks online through 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. The 21st day of July, 2015, Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes' track"Sweat It Out. Later that year her music circulated throughout the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some possible references for Rihanna. Her announcement to sign with Dreamville Records was made on December 8th. Backseat is one of the songs was written by her and Cozz to record the collaboration album Revenge of the Dreamers II. On the 21st of October in 2016, her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was joined by EarthGang. In 2018, Ari Lennox guested on two tracks with EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas on Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on the 5th of September. She released her second single, Grampa on November 9. Two more singles were released by her on 11/13 with the titles Pedigree and One. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made an appearance on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this single to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. A music video debuted 20 February 2019 in order to accompany the track. Within the first week, it had over 3,000,000 views. She was part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour back in December of 2018.
